Student Life

With 35-45 students in the entering class, students get to know each other quickly, both in the classroom and through formal and informal activities. Thus, the student group is very supportive, whether for social, academic, or professional issues. The workload is heavy but most students find time pursue recreational activities.
As MIT graduate students, TPP students enjoy access to the wealth of activities and facilities available at MIT. MIT's student body is wonderfully diverse, and many students pursue interests outside their academic ones. There are numerous arts groups, language and ethnic groups, service groups, and various other special interest groups. (Lists of these with hot links can be found at http://web.mit.edu/life/index.html). MIT's location along the Charles River in Cambridge and across the river from Boston also affords a great many recreational, athletic, social, and cultural opportunities.
